I think I should have photographed this piece with my iPad instead of scanning it. I adjusted the contrast in PhotoShop on this one. I think I will try the iPad for comparison and post below later this morning.

Both work, differently for me.
I would use both for different effects, maybe even blend the two inPS?

I like the bottom one but you could lighten it a little in edit on your iPad?
I love the squashed man being at the bottom ..give sit weight.
