Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 22
The background papers with the black and white and red, black, and white are ones that I made on my computer and imported into PhotoShop. I manipulated them and they end up as very abstract organic shapes.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 20
Two-fer Wednesday….totally forgot to publish yesterday…..
This one is all about the patterns. Just works for me.
Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 19
I love the pattern made by the lines in this spread which are broken up vertical with other patterned paper.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 18
This was not intended but the face on the right actually comes from the next spread. He appeared on this spread when the book was flattened in the scanner. I like that he made an appearance.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 17
There is something about flowering trees and in this case I like how they are mirrored with the paper behind the photograph.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 16
Two-for Saturday….
Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 15
I like the simplicity of this piece. I also like the sheerness and transparency of the right hand side of the spread where the fabric is.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 11
It has been a busy day. I have been watching the Queen’s funeral most all day. I am so pleased that all has gone well. My hat is off to all the organizers who made day a special honor for the Queen. RIP Queen Elizabeth II.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 10
It appears that no. 9 in the series is missing. I will have to check when the book is returned to me. Right now it is in Tieton, WA at the 10 x 10 x 10 Show. I might be able to figure out if it is missing or it is a clerical mistake by looking at all the scans of this book which are on my other computer. No matter because there are plenty more in this series to look at.
I frequently look through magazines for interesting patterns. I really like how the one next to the photo looks with the hand painted papers to the right of it.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 07
The marbled paper is homemade. It is such a fun process. I photocopied a box of Costco Kleenex for the paper with circles. The handwriting comes from a vintage cancelled check.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book 06
Two-fer Thursday. I just forgot to post yesterday.
Old vintage photos that I use are not my memories but the memories of others’ lives. I like the old photos and wonder what the people were like.
Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book - 05
I don’t think I have used vertical lines line this very much. I think that the cut photo must have suggested it.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book - 03
I never know what I am going to write until after I finish all collages in these little books. I look at each spread and something usually pops into my mind.

Blue Caterpillar Stitched Book - 02
I picked up a box of shear fabric samples a few years back. A zero waste group hosts a day in an activity center in Seattle for people to come and pick up what has been collected throughout the previous year. One can score some great finds. I stitched on a piece of the shear fabric which I added next to the photo of the two women.

Tiny Tome 09
This is the last video of the tiny tomes....no. 9. I was asked about the binding of each of the tomes. The pages are nested and then sewn together with a pamphlet stitch. Some of the tomes binding can be seen on the spine. Other spines were covered with cloth.

There is loads of stitching in each of the tiny tomes. Something about stitching....it is a calming activity for me.

Tiny Tome 07
I started out with six tiny tomes but had so much fun making them that I added more and had to make a larger box to house them in.

Tiny Tomes 1
Tiny Tomes
I took an online workshop with Beatriz Helton last spring. We made tiny tomes. It was a blast of a workshop. I ended up making nine tomes. The image is of all of them and the video is Tome 1.
