One of the tacket bindings types starts on the spine giving you "stray" strands which "embellish" the final binding. I like the look but one problem is that the binding thread is waxed and easily flattens against the spine. I have to keep pulling it away for it to stick out.
So the reason that I did a fish theme for this book is because Margo Klass, the instructor, had one that I really liked. I offered to buy hers but she declined and appropriately said, "You can make one easily." I did and am happy with the results. The fish come from a Cavalinni vintage reproduction poster. I am not sure what I will be putting on the blank pages. The book in total is a work of art in and of itself though. The collage for the cover is three elements which I particularly like.

Just stunning John, Bravo!
I especially like the strays!
Beautiful book John
Beautiful simplicity with the white, and the orange ties matching the illustration.
