Orange Series No. 11 |
I just completed a workshop in cold wax with Judi Wise in Gig Harbor, WA. What a fun time! Now I am thinking I might finish off the orange series with a layer or two of cold wax. I will try it on one piece first and see what happens or I might do a separate new piece as a test. I did not like the encaustic process when I tried it, but I do like working with cold wax. Funny how that goes!
On No 11 I might add a bit of pigment just under the postage stamp to tone down the lightness in one area.

I loved the hot wax when someone else set it up in a roomy workshop. But the thought of the set up and mess in my home is too much. What is cold wax?..
I'm with Bea! ♥
Yes - do tell more about cold wax when you've tried it more. I read about it in one of my books. The finish seemed very nice.
I like the colour balance in #11 as it is - the light area doesn't hit me. But it's your picture of course!
