Fashion - Turn of the Century - # 6

Fashion #6
I especially love the color match of the dress and the butterfly wing.  In looking at women's fashion history I have noticed how opposite female dress is to bird species where the male is the one that is the most flamboyant colorwise.  Take a cardinal for instance, the male red announces "look at me" versus the pale of the female of the species.  Is that a protection characteristic for species survival?  Have to do some research on that.

Maybe also those who flash bright feathers, sing loud songs and flap most energetically signal their strength and 'worthiness'??
Love the artfully coy expression on this one!
