Some days just run into each other.  Saturday certainly ran into Sunday for me.  So today is a two-for to make up for my lost day.

 I am working on a project using portraits that I have drawn which includes collaged ephemera.  I had made some ATCs with those portraits and thought why not a book.  I am now on book ten of eleven.  That means there will be seven collages in each for a total of 77 tiny collages.  The collages resemble the one above in technique.

Creating a new piece of art actually amazes me because I never really know where it is going and I let the piece lead me.  So many people do not understand that concept.  I might just start with the idea that I want something in the center of, for instance, a playing card.  I might want it to be square or a rectangle.  Then it is just start and see where it takes me.  I audition ephemera and if it feels right I go with it.  Before you know it a new composition is born.

I do not have to trade APCs each month as I can opt out.  However, I do like getting mail art and exchanging does fill the mailbox.

It pretty amazing what I can work on when my workspace is only a clipboard.  I may be working tiny but I am thinking bigger.  I have an idea for three new pieces for the fall NW Collage Society show.  So my work station had better change.

I tried a new app that found to scan right from my iPad.  It kind of yellowed the playing card.
