March APC 2019 - 26

March APC 2019 - 26
Every month I make at least 20 artist playing cards.  I send out about 15 to members of the international APC Facebook group.  It is a blast to make them and it is even more fun to receive APCs in the mail.  Anyone who has never made an artist playing card or an artist trading card should give it a go.  Working small is an amazing challenge.  It is just as amazing to make much larger pieces.

This one seems pretty dark but thank goodness for the Phillips 66 logo.  I need to enlarge it to see if I still think it dark.

Just love these cows which if I remember correctly came from a children’s primer!

I like how the clubs and numerals on the playing card go with the design quality of the handmade orange paper and the Japanese ledger paper.

March APC 2019 - 22

March APC 2019 - 22
I mentioned awhile back that I was making a book a day or at least 365 books in a year.  I just finished no. 74 this morning.  I made twelve yesterday.  I was on a roll and I found some textured tiles in the garage. I am using the tiles for the covers.  I got the tiles at Zero Landfill last October.  So I made ten accordion books.  I have an idea for the inside pages of these books and this afternoon I am going to pursue my idea.  Stay tuned on this one.

March APC 2019 - 21

When I was young my mother use to buy hamburgers at the A and W Root Beer.  I was so finicky that if there was even the slightest deviation from a plain bun and the hamburger I would not eat it.  No pickles allowed because of the juice!  No mustard or ketchup.  Once I remember she wiped the extras off with a napkin and I still would not eat it. :-)
