At first glance, before coffee, I thought it read The Friend and the Foe! The jaunty gent appears to me as a gambler about to place a large bet on number 70. I love the tall bars of papers, it reads as a dense birch forest.
I’m looking at this in a coffee shop in the Hayes Valley area of SF near where we are staying. There was a power outage in our area last night which has still not been repaired do we had to walk a ways to get coffee this morning. I love all the vintage papers you have used in this piece, Jonn, and I am also partial to a vertical format. Love the wonderful textures and the muted format!
