My backgrounds for the ATCs were encaustic papers I made in early January. I had a bit of trouble adhering collage materials to the encaustic papers though. After a coat of clear gesso things were better but not 100%. I heard from one recipient that papers had come unglued. If one out of sixteen is the only problem then that is not too bad I guess.

You might use stitching. Is your Japanese writing from vintage account books?
