Peony #1

Peony #1
I wish I knew the people in the photographs that I have been using for this postcard series.  Some have had major problems with the law and some are just plain sweet.  Peony seems like perhaps she is a schoolmarm. I imagine her to be a conversationalist.  Who knows?  One can design anything for her personality based on what we see.

Yes, I agree, Peony is definitely a schoolmarm, and a wistful one at that!
I love the posterized black and white with your masterful colors, always a treat to study, John! Thanks for sharing! ♥

That must be Pearl. She was a friend of my grandmother and this lady looks remarkably like Pearl long before I met her. I love this one! It tells the story so clearly, whatever the story you might imagine is, and the palette is lovely. Well done!

I like the way you've treated the flowers on the background.

Peony is stunning. I can't begin to figure out how you build these pieces. I love the tilt of her head. Yes, she may very well have been a conversationalist.
