Eco dying is tremendous fun. The plant material used came from my garden and was randomly chosen. The mordant used was rusty water. I put alum in the boiling water and about a dozen avocado pits. The papers were bundled with the plant material and submerged into the bath and "cooked" for almost three hours. The absolute best ones were not unwrapped until the next day. The shapes and colors were better than the one unwrapped the first "cooking" evening.
