When I was young my mother use to buy hamburgers at the A and W Root Beer. I was so finicky that if there was even the slightest deviation from a plain bun and the hamburger I would not eat it. No pickles allowed because of the juice! No mustard or ketchup. Once I remember she wiped the extras off with a napkin and I still would not eat it. :-)
