Manzanita Series Continues

Manzanita No. 3

Manzanita No. 4

One might think it is rather easy to create an ATC quickly.  Not so!  I spend a great deal of time trying out pieces for the card.  First you have to find a bunch and I mean a bunch of ephemera.  Since I was at the beach I poured over brochures and coastal magazines in order to have beach images. Then since I had purchased matchbooks, I had to figure out how all this was to going to work together.  Of course, you have to decide for yourself if I was successful or not.  All I have to say is that it was fun!  I do like having a limited amount of medium as well.  That makes the job a bit less demanding.  When I am home I am surrounded by all those art supplies I just had to try out. :-)  You know what I mean!

Two more beauties!
I love them and your sue of color is always spectacular!
I'd say the lobster is my favorite for the way you made it happen,
and of course the cool color!
Manzanita Bravo, John!

I love them too! I also collaged with only what I could find when we were traveling for the month of June down south...it was great to be creative with limited resources...you did a fantastic job!

What a great series, John! Glad you guys had a wonderful time on the Oregon coast!

Love the Fascination one for the depth - keep noticing things behind something else and can't see the whole lot at once but it hangs together. I think you were happy when you created this set.

These are really good, its quite stimulating but not easy to work on the move with limited supplies, in my Feburary trip to the US I tried the same technique, but I wasn't so successful in my efforts and worked on them when I came home to England and they will never be the best pieces I have/will create, so thanks for the reminder it is possible.

Heather

I so agree John- the small format does not mean that they are made quickly- I so know this- I actually tend to work on a whole group at once when I make ATCs- I haven't made many since the group I was in disbanded.
