Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year
February 10, 2013 begins the Chinese New Year.  Honoring ancestors is culturally adhered to.  This piece exemplifies the ancestor theme wholeheartedly.  The background was especially fun to make as joss papers, gesso, and acrylic paint were used extensively.

Like your style, John. This is so rich. I will probably celebrate the Chinese New Year with my Chinese friend

I see a theme going on here I really like, with the reds! I love the background, it almost seems ghosted in some parts! Really nice John!

Nice one, John. Reminds me that King Richard III's remains were identified recently here by the DNA match of someone living now who may be the last to inherit it. Ancestors are all around us!
