Creating a new piece of art actually amazes me because I never really know where it is going and I let the piece lead me. So many people do not understand that concept. I might just start with the idea that I want something in the center of, for instance, a playing card. I might want it to be square or a rectangle. Then it is just start and see where it takes me. I audition ephemera and if it feels right I go with it. Before you know it a new composition is born.

Sometimes I have a direction, but it usually veers off.
