Is he worried about his son? Could he be worried about something from his past? Is he worried about getting older? Perhaps he is just reflecting. The eyes tell a story.
Maybe he is worried about how his son can be in two places at once: behind him in the father/son portrait, and on the page with the “5” in your book (“Jogging can be dangerous”.) that will be in the Puget Sound Book Arts Show.
