What is it about calla lilies that seem so sophisticated? Well, I think that anyway. The long neck of the woman and the long necks of the lilies go well together.
Hi john, i’ve been looking each day while i was still in bed..and not condusive to comment! But this little book is very special indeed...and yes, there truly is something very elegant about calla lilies..their creamy whiteness, and ability to hold their head up high for quite a long time. They remind me of the art deco period...elongated forms that seem to sway, just like a calla lily.
I love this piece, John! The word VIBRANT comes to mind! They remind me so of growing up in my childhood home in the Bay Area where my mother had several beds of calla lilies planted around the house which seemed to be in bloom all summer long. They evoke such strong memories of those faraway years.
