WWII Letters Journal - Entry 2

WWII Letters Journal - Entry 2

All the backgrounds in this series are envelopes and are all dated during WWII.  I chose Japanese figures for the focal points to express the people the allies were at war with.  Having lived in Japan for two years I wanted to humanize the other side of the war experience.

While living in Japan I was invited into one of my neighbors homes.  On the walls were portraits of lost family members to the war.  These men who died were loved ones.  They are honored by their ancestors born after the war.  They are not forgotten.
